Your baby’s bassinet is such an important purchase because this is where he will spend most of his time during those first six months. Sleep is so precious during the newborn phase so choosing the perfect one is crucial to you and your little one. When I created my registry I had no idea which one to choose, there are just so many options! I have created this list of the best bassinets for your baby registry, including options for every budget!

$50-$100

Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Portable Bassinet

This bassinet may seem basic but it has everything that your baby needs! It can be rocked manually, is lightweight, and is easy to fold up for travelling with your baby. This bassinet is recommended for babies up to 25 pounds.

Delta Children Gliding Deluxe Bassinet

This bassinet is an affordable option with great reviews! It is safe for babies up to 15 pounds and features a storage basket and wheels. A bassinet with wheels is a good choice so you can easily roll your baby closer to you without getting out of bed. The canopy and mobile are removable.

$100-$300

Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Bassinet

This bassinet features soothing motions created by you or baby, along with a ton of other features. It has a night light, light projections, vibrations, music, and sounds. It is safe for babies up to 40 pounds which means you can use it longer than some of the less expensive bassinets.

Arms Reach Cambria Cosleeper

I have heard great things about this bassinet! It has wheels which makes it easy to care for your little one in the middle of the night, without leaving your bed. The walls come down to access your baby or to use as a co-sleeper. There is storage underneath and can be used for up to 5 months.

Halo Swivel Sleeper

This is the bassinet I have personally used and loved! I really liked it because of it’s special features. First, the swivel was SUPER helpful during the first few weeks while I was recovering from my C-section. It made caring for my new baby from bed much easier. Second, Artie loved the vibration and music, which helped him fall asleep faster. It also has a convenient nightlight included for those middle of the night feedings. There is a less expensive version without these features but if you are getting the Halo Swivel Sleeper I would definitely register for this one. This bassinet is a little big for a tiny newborn but I stumbled upon this insert once Artie had already grown out of it. I think it would have helped him feel more comfortable during those first few weeks. One downside to this bassinet is that it is not easy to move. If you need a bassinet that you can move to different rooms around your home, this will not be a good fit.

$300+

Baby Bjorn Cradle

This bassinet is intended for newborn babies through 6 months.  It features a gentle rocking motion that lulls your baby to sleep. This is a sleek, classic looking bassinet that would be a beautiful addition to any home. It is easy to move so you can be near your little one at all times.

Snoo Smart Sleeper

The Snoo Smart Sleeper is has so many features that will help you and your baby get more sleep! This bassinet responds to your baby’s fussing with motion and white noise to soothe them back to sleep, with noises and motion similar to being in the womb. It alerts you if your baby needs more attention, has weaning and newborn settings… and has a 30 day trial period! There comes a point in every new mom’s life that she wishes she could sleep just one more hour and if this bassinet does what it claims, it may be the answer. It even prevents your baby from rolling over and logs your baby’s sleep!

Bed-Sharing Bassinets

It is recommended that you do not let your baby sleep with you, in your bed to prevent SIDS. If bed-sharing is the only option, it is best to use a side sleeper to separate a section of the bed for your baby.

SwaddleMe By Your Side Sleeper

This affordable side sleeper features mesh sides that allow air to circulate while providing a clear view of your baby. This design creates a safe space for Baby by preventing parents from rolling over. This product is only recommended for babies up to 3 months old.

DockATot

The DockATot is the most popular bassinet designed for bed-sharing. It is more expensive but can be used by babies up to 8 months old. The DockATot has a unique design which is intended to mimic how your baby felt in the womb. It creates a warm, snuggly environment, while providing a safe place for your baby to sleep. DockATot also has options for older babies, like this one recommended for 9-36 months.
