With over 100 acres to explore, Daniel Stowe has something to do for every member of the family!
What To Expect At Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
Our family has a fantastic time at Daniel Stowe every time we visit! There is so much to see and do, while also gaining an appreciation for nature. Whether you stop by for a stroll through the garden or plan on attending a specific event, you will never be let down by your experience at Daniel Stowe.
Some of my favorite pictures of my son were taken at these gardens. It is absolutely beautiful at DSBG so be prepared for plenty of photo ops!
When I first learned of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, activities for children weren’t the first thing that came to mind. I was pleasantly surprised to learn of everything they actually provide for kids! Not only do they have an entire garden designed for children of all ages, but they also host programs and classes for kids!
At the Lost Hollow Children’s Garden you will find a stone amphitheater, sunken pond, “ancient ruins” and a rotating aviary! This garden was designed to ignite your child’s imagination and features a medieval style, making it stand out among the typical playgrounds your children have visited.
In addition to creating an entire garden for children, the DSBG calendar is full of activities for kids! They host story time, bird walks, candle making, picnics, crafts, family yoga classes and SO much more! There is always something to look forward to!
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden hosts a number of events throughout the year. From special holiday occasions to casual “wine walks” through the gardens, you will enjoy every moment you spend here. I have featured a few of my favorite events below. If you are looking for something different to do during the holidays, you HAVE to visit Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden!
Holidays At The Garden
At Christmas, every tree in the garden is twinkling with lights! It is absolutely gorgeous during this time of year, and this event is one of my favorite ways to kick off the holiday season. There is a fee to visit during their “Holidays At The Garden” but they have a night for members only to enjoy the event at no cost!
You can enjoy the Christmas lights, music, food, and even meet Santa when he visits during Holidays At The Garden! My son loves this event! He still looks for the Christmas train every time we visit!
Peter Rabbit’s Garden Adventure
Another favorite holiday character when Easter approaches. Peter Rabbit’s Garden Adventure features Peter Rabbit himself, along with an Easter egg hunt, carriage rides, and more! We had a great time at this event, I can’t wait to attend again!
Chinese Lantern Festival
The annual Chinese Lantern Festival is an event you will not want to miss! The exhibit features HUNDREDS of lanterns throughout the garden. It is like nothing you have ever seen before.
The Butterfly Bungalow hosts many native species of butterflies and caterpillars. Your children will love attracting the butterflies! You won’t believe how close they will get!
